Coyoctor station

The Coyoctor station is the terminus of the Inca Baths route, in the El Tambo canton (Cañar), at 3,080 m above sea level. Right beside it lies the archaeological complex of Coyoctor, also known as the “Inca Baths”, one of the most singular ceremonial sites in the southern highlands.

The complex brings together ceremonial baths and channels carved directly into the rock by the Cañari and Inca peoples, along with platforms, a natural amphitheatre and a site museum that explains its ritual use tied to water and sun worship. The short train trip from El Tambo allowed visitors to discover this little-known archaeological testimony.
