Andrade Marín station

The Andrade Marín station, in the Antonio Ante canton (Imbabura, 2,360 m above sea level), is a stop on the Freedom Train. It is next to Atuntaqui, the canton seat and one of the main textile and garment centres of Ecuador. It is the end of the municipal section reactivated in 2025, the Ibarra–Andrade Marín route known as the “Train to the Factory” or “Tren del Tayta Imbabura”.

The great local icon is the old Imbabura Factory, a magnificent example of industrial heritage converted into a cultural centre and museum. Antonio Ante is also famous for its clothing trade, its textile fairs and its cuisine, which makes this station a lively, commercial point on the route.
